Zelman Orchestra

This year on Sunday 12 September the Zelman Memorial Symphony Orchestra will perform for us again. Last year’s recital was an unexpected joy, providing a true up-close-and-personal experience of a fine orchestra. The Yea Shire Hall seems large until you fit a 60-piece orchestra into it – the players take up half of the floor space, as well as the stage.

Last year was a learning opportunity for us – what to do, what not to do. While it was a thrilling event for all present, we have improved our processes this year. The 190 strictly limited tickets will be prepaid and are now on sale. We had our first successful morning of selling outside the local supermarket on 5 June, and now we’re taking bookings by phone and generally doing everything in our power to make it a sell-out well ahead of time. You will be allotted specific seats when you book and we will do all we can to ensure that your seat numbers don’t change.

Tickets are now on sale.
Good seats still available.

Tickets

After much consideration we have decided on three grades of seating this year:

  • Premium seats are the front four rows on the ground floor, closest to the orchestra. Patrons in these seats will have the closest view of the players – as close as two metres in some cases – and will have an experience that can’t be obtained at larger city venues. The price for these seats is $30.00with no concessions available.
  • Standard seats are the rest of the ground floor seats. These are $25.00, with concession tickets available at $20.00.
  • Balcony seats are … on the balcony! The view can be a little restricted by the ironwork at the front of the balcony, but there’s a great overview of the entire orchestra. These seats are $20.00with no concessions available.

So tickets are $20, $25 and $30 depending on your preference and concession status.

Buy your tickets at one of the street stalls, reserve them by phone on 03 5796 9200 or book via email on sales@100kNorth.com.

About the Orchestra

The Zelman Symphony Orchestra is Melbourne’s longest-running community symphony orchestra with a history dating back to 1906.

The Orchestra is a mix of professional and amateur players and provides them with opportunities to fulfill their passion for playing fine music, to enhance their skills, and most importantly to share the spirit and joy of fine music with their friends and the wider community. It also provides established and developing conductors and soloists the opportunity to perform with a full symphony orchestra.

The Zelman Symphony performs works from the Baroque to the present day in regular concerts, primarily in the inner-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Fortunately for us in Yea, they also play some dates outside the metro area!
